LottoHoy Review

If you’re interested in playing only Spanish lotteries, LottoHoy offers the main games there plus betting on football. This online lottery provider adds Quiniela and Quinigol for sports fans. Looking at the site, it all seems fairly straight forward with good options for people from one ticket upwards including subscriptions. They say they purchase the tickets and hold them on your behalf.

Games at LottoHoy.com

Players can play La Primitiva, BonoLoto, El Gordo (love the picture of the fat guy), the Spanish National Lottery and Spain’s EuroMillions. Interestingly, like the UK, Spain has added a raffle El Millón which is an additional number added to tickets for a guaranteed €1 million Euros. Once in a while, they also offer Rain of Millions with 25 prizes of €1 million. Single or multiple tickets can be purchased, as well as subscriptions can be taken in terms of weeks or draws. There is also a “reduced” button that offers combination tickets from 10 to 15 numbers.

LottoHoy!’s Something a Little Different

If you’re interested in betting on the Spanish league football (soccer for the North Americans), LottoHoy.com has Quiniela and Quinigol. People bet on who is going to win and/or how many goals are going to be scored. For Quiniela, pick 15 correctly to get the main prize down to 10. For Quinigol, the prize tier is 6 correct down to 2. If you’re interested in what you can win, go to ‘results’ as it’s not listed on play page. Any win €1 or less does not go into your account but is rolled into the prize pool for the next match.

LottoHoy and Taxes

All wins over the amount of €2,500 are subject to Spain’s tax of twenty percent. At this point, all the games available are Spanish based but if they add any of the US lotteries, then they would be subject to the US tax plus Spanish tax.

Who Can Play at LottoHoy.com?

Playing at LottoHoy is open to everyone “including your country”. I’m guessing that is a translation issue. The site and all information is available in both Spanish and English.

Opting Out

If you are playing here and decide to opt out any money you’ve put into your account must be spent on lottery tickets or football betting. There is no way to withdraw it. LottoHoy.com says this is for “security reasons and to comply with the money laundering regulations”. To collect your winnings, click on “Collect Rewards”. LottoHoy! says they will transfer the money to your bank account “as soon as possible” with no explanation on what that is.

Getting in Touch with LottoHoy!

LottoHoy.com is owned by a company registered in Spain. There are a snail mail and email address. There are no phone numbers or online chat – oh and an online form. The customer service is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am until 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Saturday it is open 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. I’m not sure what that means given there are no phone numbers to call. There is no information on how quickly they will answer your questions by email. I’m certain no one is actually going to write to them.

LottoHoy.com and the Bottom Line

I don’t like the fact that I can’t get my money back out. I also have problems with the “as soon as possible” on getting my winnings. The sports part of betting on games looks like fun, but I’d seriously have to read up on Spanish football before jumping into that one.

Pros:

Spanish Lotteries and Football Betting

Single Tickets on Lotteries

Cons:

Only Spanish Lotteries

Taxes on EuroMillions

Limited Customer Service

This site gets a reserved thumb’s up for its clearness though folks, it is only for Spanish lotteries and of course the football betting. I think I’ll stick with online providers that offer variety in international lotteries like US Powerball and EuroJackpot.
