LottoAge Review
Don’t get intimidated when you first go to LottoAge.com. You can click a button on the top left corner and change the Russian to English – unless you’d prefer to surf in Russian. This is an online provider for purchasing international lottery tickets and syndicates. On the face of the site, it looks pretty clean and easy to get around. But let’s look at the small print.
Games at LottoAge.com
There are 15 international lotteries to choose from to play, including the usual big boys of US Powerball and EuroMillions. LottoAge.com has a minimum purchase of 5 lines per draw/per lottery. There are discounts for multiple draws starting from 2 draws/5%, 8 draws/10% and 40 draws/15%. But under OZ Lotto LottoAge says their multiple draw packages of “5, 10, 25 or 52” receive a 25% discount. Plus “the most dedicated LottoAge players” get a VIP discount of 20%. There doesn’t seem to be any more information on that anywhere! Money held in your account is held two separate ways – Real Money and Bonus Credit. Only real money can be withdrawn. Bonus Credits can be used to play games.
Lotto Age and Syndicates
There is a range of syndicates with names like Magic Charm, Power Punch, American Dream, and Jackpot Hunter. These seem to change regularly as they fill up. LottoAge sets out the length of the syndicate, the number of shares, and the number of tickets. Some of their syndicates indicate insurance from 30% to 50% -not sure what this is about, and there is no information. LottoAge clarified it is not an insurance but a discount.
Getting Your Winnings at LottoAge.com
Though LottoAge.com says under US Powerball that “all money won is 100% your”, in their T&C they say they charge a commission of 10% on any winnings US$10,000 or higher. If you win a jackpot, you’ll collect your ticket from LottoAge’s local agent and receive the prize yourself. Under the Canadian Lotto 649, LottoAge.com says wins up to €2,500 are tax-free. Sorry folks – Canadian lotteries are tax-free. Oh, and any more substantial win, you’ll have to go to Australia to collect “your tax-free prize in person.” Why am I going to go to Australia to collect a Canadian prize? In the T&C, there is a minimum of €20 for any withdrawal. Though under payment methods, different amounts are depending on your country. Canada and Asia are $10, Central America & Africa is $50, and Europe, Australia, and South America is $25.
First Time Players
Register at LottoAge.com and get a gift of a free ticket for a lottery. Make your first purchase, and you get double the number of tickets. It looks like the only limitation on who can play is you have to be over the age of 18, and you can’t be related to anyone who works for LottoAge.
Getting in Touch
LottoAge.com has an email address and UK phone number. Towards the bottom of the page, there is an online form button and live chat though there is no indication when they are available. It looks like GMT business hours, and they are there some of the time to answer questions. LottoAge.com is owned by a company with a snail mail address in Bulgaria.
The Bottom Line at LottoAge.com
I’m trying to figure out if some of the errors are language translation issues or simply sloppy cut and paste. This is particularly important when we’re talking getting winnings. The syndicates all look interesting and seem to be very good value with their share/ticket ratio.
Pros:
15 International Lotteries to Play
Good Share/Ticket Ratio for Syndicates
First Time Purchase Bonus
Cons:
Minimum Purchase of 5 Ticket Lines for All Lotteries
Errors & Mistakes in T&C Versus Lottery Specific Info
Commission on Winnings
This site gets a thumb’s down. It’s a shame they haven’t worked a little harder on this.
